Join Mukka in Fitzroy for an incredible weekend of two-for-one thali plus an afternoon of awesome kite flying between Saturday, 19th August and Sunday, 20th August.
During Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm, you and a friend can tuck into ‘buy one get one free' Thali (meaning round tray or plate.) This typical Indian meal is made up of a selection of different dishes. The selection varies from region to region in India and is usually served in small bowls on a round tray. Mukka will be serving updated North Indian Thalis (available for lunch only) from this day forward – they are the bomb!
On Sunday, come along and enjoy kite flying and other fun activities at Edinburgh Gardens in North Fitzroy on Sunday between 12pm and 5pm.
Why kite flying? During Indian Independence Day celebrations on 15th August, the sky is dotted with kites of various hues, shapes, and sizes. This popular activity happens nationwide and to this day continues to be associated with the spirit of freedom.
Along with flying kites, other free activities include playing carom board, munching on samosas, slurping on chai at the park and enjoying Indian sweets. Look out for the colourful Mukka marquee in the Edinburgh Gardens.
